GUEST LECTURER: Martin Beck

TITLE OF THE LECTURE "The Artist in Social Communication"

LECTURE IN GERMAN, after discussion

OPEN TO GENERAL PUBLIC

24, October 2006, TUESDAY

At 17.20 going to CINEMA URANIA or meeting there

At 18.00 cinema URANIA talk with Kenneth Anger on “Anger me”

with Tav Falco and Elio Gelmini

The story of Kenneth Anger’s life sounds much like the celebrity dish he published in his bestselling book Hollywood Babylon (1975), and is just as difficult to swallow whole. From his scandalous experimental movies of the 1940s-80s, to his associations with the satanic underground, the septuagenarian seems to invite speculation. His notorious reputation was punched up by journalist Bill Landis’ Anger: The Unauthorized Biography of Kenneth Anger (1995). The book explodes with tales of sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll, murder, and much is written about Anger’s purported vindictiveness. Anger denounced the book as a pack of lies and put a curse on Landis’ ass.
