MEETING at our new space: SEMPER DEPOT, 1 floor, at 17.30.
Who is interested: At 16.00 is an entry ceremony in the AULA at Schilerplatz (main building). After we can go all together at SEMPER DEPOT or we just meet there..
AT 17.30: New students presentations, talk about the program 2004-2005, talk about the space and the way to use it, talk about our most important projects in 2004-2005: a public exhibition in Vienna, Belgrade trip.... seminars....

"There must be an alternative." (to Capitalism)

There is no alternative”, behauptete die frühere britische Premierministerin Margaret Thatcher in Hinblick auf die ökonomischen Ungerechtigkeiten in den 80er Jahren, während die politisch gewollten Umstrukturierungsprozesse zum Vorteil von transnationalen Konzernen und dem Großkapital fortgesetzt wurden. In den letzten Jahren gelang es der internationalen, so genannten Anti-Globalisierungsbewegung und den Sozialforen, die kapitalistischen Herrschaftsprozesse öffentlich in Frage zu stellen. “There must be an alternative” war aus so manchem Forum zu vernehmen und bildet auch den Rahmen für die künstlerischen Beiträge dieser Ausstellung. Sie versammelt künstlerische Positionen der Analyse und Kritik bestehender (Wirtschafts-)Systeme, des Widerstandes dazu und fokussiert Ansätze zu möglichen Alternativen zum Kapitalismus.
