A unique play in an Ankara theater with little-known actors - transsexuals and homosexuals raising their voices against discrimination. The play, Pink And Grey, shines a spotlight on the plight of transsexuals in Turkey, in the latest initiative of a fledgling, but increasingly vocal movement for rights by a community long ostracized and often harassed.

„the darker side of the academy“ war eine Intervention anlässlich des Rundgangs 2011 die das Ziel hatte das Selbstbild der Akademie als kritische und fortschrittliche Bildungsinstitution anzugreifen und rassistische Realitäten zu bennen. Wir zeigten, dass für Migrant_innen auch diese Institution keine Ausnahme im gesetzlich festgeschriebenen Rassismus bildet. Und dass die Akademie bürokratische Hürden und systematische Diskriminierungen reproduziert, weil sie statt strukturellen Maßnahmen nur die informelle Unterstützung von engagierten Mitarbeiter_innen, Freund_innen und Kolleg_innen entgegenzusetzen versucht. Beim Antirassismus, wie wir ihn verstehen, geht es nicht (nur) darum, solidarisch zu sein, zu helfen, zu unterstützen und „nett“ zu sein, sondern vor allem darum, permanent zu verhandeln, aus welcher Position wir jeweils agieren und anhand dieser Auseinandersetzungen gemeinsame Wege der Aktion zu finden.

Teatro Valle (Rome, Italy) was shut down in 2010 as part of the Italian government's budget cuts for the arts in general. In June 2011, amidst rumors that the theater was to be privatized the building was occupied by a group of protesters consisting of actors, musicians, directors, technicians, and creative staff. As of June 2012, the theater remained occupied by the group.
