At 18.30 Nobodies Revolution-THE REVOLUTION OF ROJAVA Screening and talk with political activist Mahmut MIRZANLI

Mahmut MIRZANLI is political activist with focus on Kurdistan. He is representative of HelpKobane – Humanitarian Aid Organisation in Austria for Kobane.

Presentation and moderation of the event by Betül Seyma KÜPELI and Songül SÖNMEZ.

Screening:

Radio Kobani, 2017, 70min., by Reber Dosky The film presents a story of a young reporter in war-torn Kobanî. Director Reber Dosky is known for Radio Kobanî (2016), Lokroep (2013) and Paardenkracht (2016).

Fear us women, 2017, 27min., by David Darg

The film follows Hanna Bohman, a Canadian civilian who has spent the last three years in Syria as a volunteer soldier battling ISIS. As a member of the YPJ, an all-female Kurdish army, Hanna gives an inside look at the women fighting for liberation in one of the world’s most dangerous countries.

Director David Darg is an award winning film maker and co-founder of RYOT Media.

At 16.00 Presentation research project Marina Grzinic, Sophie Uitz Genealogy of Amnesia: Rethinking the Past for a New Future of Conviviality.

Part 2, introduction and screening of Valentin Areh, Radovan Karadzic's Secret Plans, 2016, 51 min, documentary for television.

The TV film shows newly retrieved materials and accounts obtained at the trial of Radovan Karadzic at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, Hague Tribunal.

The documentary was premiered 2 days before the final sentence to Karadzic at the Haag Tribunal, March 24, 2016. Karadzic was sentenced to 40 years for Srebrenica genocide in BiH, among others criminal acts.

Valentin Areh (born 1971) is a Slovenian journalist, war correspondent and writer. He participated in 1991 as a soldier in the short Slovenian war for independence. He subsequently attended Ljubljana University, studying history and sociology. He concluded his studies at Ljubljana by obtaining a Master's degree covering certain sociological aspects of the US electoral system. Areh has fifteen years of experience as a war correspondent in places such as Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Afghanistan and Iraq. He was one of the few journalists to remain in Kosovo during the Kosovo War of 1999 and he survived a tortuous escape out of the country during NATO’s war to expel Serbian forces.

Marika Schmiedt, renewed Austrian artist, was invited by the Studio for Post-conceptual art Practices (PCAP) at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna to have a workshop with students. She proposed the title that is as well central to her work: INTEGRATION NO THANKS! Perspectives & Resistance.

The result of the workshop is 17 posters by 13 authors presented at the Rundgang in 2018 as a collaborative exchange in between Marika Schmiedt and the students.

Part of the Language Strategies exhibition in London is a workshop. Taking part in the workshop from PCAP are Sara Bissen, Sarah Raffaela Jackel, Aaron Kimmig, Leonie Knez and Dominik Szereday.
