Title of presentation: The teleported subject – preliminary notes on the phenomena of the self-made satellite dish in Romania

(title of the dissertation work: “The teleported subject. Perspectives on the Eastern European Subject - a case study in post-socialist Romania”)

Short bio: Alexandra Tatar: born in Dej, Romania, studied fine art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and painting at the University of Art and Design Cluj Napoca, Romania. Currently she is a doctoral candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, researching on the topic of post-soviet subjectivities. In her work she focuses on the communicational codes and conventions of mainstream culture and their influence on the construction of imagery and identities.

Evgeniya Kostomarova: born in Moscow region, Russia. Studied Journalism at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Currently she’s writing her doctorate dissertation work at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, researching on the topic of the occult underground of industrial music. In her work she focuses on the the topic of what makes the fascination of industrial music and what kind of role Zero Kama has played there.
